To Worship Like Christ

Our Holy Father, our God above,
We long to enter your presence of love.
Prepare our hearts for that which we cannot do,
To worship like Christ, founded in love for you.
We recognize our wandering way as lost,
And Christ our saviour who paid full our cost.
We come not of an accord all our own,
But by the seed of faith which you have sown.
Humbly lead us through the veil torn asunder,
That we may sing of your glory like mighty thunder.
Water our hearts for that which we cannot do,
To worship like Christ, founded in love for you.
In our lives, to sin we did slave,
But to you, God alone, it is us you did save.
On that cross we place our guilt, sorrow, and shame,
That we may come into your presence and sing of your fame.
Shower your radiance on that branch in our heart,
May it bear fruit in loving union, never to part.
Grow our faith that which we cannot do,
To worship like Christ, founded in love for you.
